It’s not an easy choice, as these are two top-of-the range Samsung smartphones that have a lot going for each of them. If you’re thinking of buying a Samsung Note 10 Plus or a Samsung Note 20 Ultra and aren’t sure which is best for you, read on.
Samsung Note 10 Plus: an easy-to-hold phone in one hand
Smartphones are getting bigger and if you want one that sits comfortably in your hand, choose the Note 10 Plus. The 6.8-inch screen (6.9-inch for the Note 20 ultra) may seem only a little smaller, but along with its slim design this makes a difference when you hold it. Both phones perform well for playing games, watching videos or if you tend to have lots of apps open, with each having 12GM of RAM. With average use, the Note 10 Plus holds its battery power longer than the Note 20 Ultra, likely due to the slower refresh rate. This shouldn't be a problem for average users as the Samsung Note 10 Plus ends the day with about 15% battery life left. If you don't have time to wait for your phone to charge, you’ll prefer the Note 10 Plus. It has a faster charging capacity with a 45-watt charger available to purchase separately, compared to the 25-watt charger for the Note 20 with no option to increase this.
For a smooth operating experience, the Samsung Note 20 Ultra is the winner. With a 120Hz refresh rate, double that of the Note 10 Plus, it delivers a slick operation. Its camera also surpasses the Note 10 Plus’s. Both smartphones have 3 rear cameras, but the Note 20 Ultra leads the way for extra features such as 50x zoom, 5x optical lens, 8K video recording and a 108-megapixel sensor, giving more detailed and clearer images. Both phones come with an S Pen for handwriting and drawing, and unless you’re very artistic, the response rate on the Note 10 Plus is perfectly adequate. Whilst neither phone is invincible, screen damage if dropped is less likely on the Note 20 Ultra as it benefits from Victus glass, which is stronger than the Gorilla Glass on the Note 10.
These are both premium priced phones and if you’re looking for a seamless experience and a high quality camera we think the Samsung Note 20 Ultra is the better of the two.
