Worth buying a refurbished MacBook Air

3 Reasons Why You Should Buy a Refurbished MacBook Air

Is it worth buying a refurbished MacBook Air?

A used & refurbished MacBook Air is a great option if you want an affordable Apple laptop

When it comes to buying one of the smallest, sleekest, and cheapest used laptops on the market, the MacBook Air is one of your best options. Used MacBook Air laptops retain their value and when properly refurbished with a reputable business (like BackMarket) can be a solid overall investment lasting for many years. However, there are a few things you should remember before purchasing a used MacBook Air. The good news is, no matter which model you are going for, you don’t have to wait for Black Friday deals anymore, you can get a cheap deal at Back Market every day!

Why we love the used & refurbished MacBook Air

Regardless of the year of production, the used & refurbished MacBook Air is one of the lightest laptops on the market. The aluminum body makes it light yet durable. The sleek finish and angled silhouette are aesthetically pleasing, as well.

It’s the perfect used laptop purchase for anyone who takes their laptop with them to coffee shops or libraries or works often on the go. The thin shape and smaller frame, as well as the lightweight material means it can conveniently fit into most backpacks or bags. Most refurbished MacBook Air laptops have a display size of about 11 inches, with a slightly larger model available at about 13 inches. Which one you get is mostly a matter of preference, but if you plan on spending a lot of time on the laptop, then the version with the bigger screen is probably the better choice.

HINT: If you want an extra nice screen with a good pixel density, go for the MacBook Air with the Retina display, you won’t regret it (:

Additionally, the battery time is equally good, with almost ten hours available for unplugged use; this is plenty of time to take the laptop with you to get work done. And since we make sure that our sellers check batteries at the factory and replace any faulty old ones, you can rest assured that your refurbished MacBook Air will have the same great battery life as a new one :D

Buy a used MacBook Air with more performance

Just because refurbished MacBook Air laptops are lightweight and compact, doesn’t mean they have less storage space or performance than traditional desktops or bulky laptops. Depending on the model year, they come available with either 4, 8, or 16GB of RAM. If you’re a more experienced user that plans to use a lot of applications at once, we recommend going for the 8GB version at least. And just in case you didn’t know, RAM is the part of the computer which controls all the ongoing processes that the laptop is running. It’s like the part of your brain that deals with conscious thought :P Ok, that’s a somewhat geeky comparison, but you get the idea.

Additionally, the storage space starts on the slightly smaller side but goes up all the way to 2TB depending on the model year and add-ons. You can find a refurbished MacBook Air with 128, 256, or 512GB of storage, and if you’re willing to pay more and look harder you can even find versions with 1 and 2TB of storage (way more than anyone will probably need). As most people are working with iCloud or Dropbox, or other digital storage methods, space is becoming far less of a draw when it comes to laptops. But if you plan to hold on to the laptop for a while and plan on uploading photos and videos to the computer, definitely go for a version with at least 256GB of storage.
