Surprisingly, the iPhone XR beats models like the iPhone X, XS, and even the iPhone 12 thanks to its comparably large battery and more efficient LCD display. Although the iPhone XS Plus has a slightly larger battery at 3,174 mAh.

The iPhone XR also introduced some impressive technical spec upgrades at the time of its release, and everything from the camera performance to the design still holds up decently well against the newest smartphones today. So if you're looking for a reliable iPhone with great features and battery and without breaking the bank, then you'll likely be very happy with an iPhone XR.

Although the price is low, the iPhone XR isn't for everyone

But there are certain features that you won't get with the iPhone XR. The most notable of which is 5G connectivity.

Although this technology is still in its infancy and takes a huge toll on battery life, you'll have to look at the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, or iPhone 12 mini if you want to get on this bandwagon. Nowadays, more and more smartphones are offering 5G connectivity for the fastest browsing experience, so if you don't want to miss out on these faster speeds, then you'll want to reconsider your purchase.

Remember the days when 4G coverage was the hottest thing for cellular carriers? We think 4G will still be available for years to come and performs great, so don't feel too obligated to jump on 5G just yet!

Aside from that, if you want an iPhone with a better camera that has more focal lengths (better zoom functionality) and a night mode for clearer evening photos, you may want to look into the iPhone 11 or 11 Pro. The iPhone XR camera is still a great performer, but we realize that some folks rely on their camera daily and would prefer the better performance shown on newer models.
