The digital divide — the name for the gap between people who have access to tech and those who do not — is growing. In 2022, 33% of American youth in low-income households reported not having access to a family computer. In a world where digital literacy is becoming more important every day, this is a massive socioeconomic issue.
Join us on November 11 at Artist & Fleas Williamsburg to give back — literally. Donate your old laptop, and we’ll get it expertly refurbished for local students, schools, and communities who need it most. Oh, and you’ll get some cash, too. For every laptop you donate, you’ll receive a $20 voucher to shop in-store. Stick around till 6pm to enjoy free food provided by local vendors and live music by a star student: DJ Sophia Rocks.
All laptops will be refurbished by our partner, Human-I-T, and donated to youth, families, and communities in need, or through the non-profit EveryoneOn and the Jersey City Housing Authority (JCHA). Any donations that are unable to be refurbished will be recycled by Human-I-T. Talk about a win-win.
No sweat. You can drop your tech off through November 26 at one of our partner locations: Regeneration (66 N 7th St, Brooklyn, NY) and Artist & Fleas Chelsea Market (88 10th Ave, New York, NY). You’ll receive a $20 voucher for in-store shopping, per device, at the location you donated.
