Fitbit is catered to a different kind of user than the refurbished Apple Watch. If you’re a dedicated runner that wants more running data and battery life, then buying a used Fitbit may be a better choice, but it’s important to remember that Fitbits don’t quite feel as premium as their Apple counterparts, so if you want a used smartwatch that has a luxurious and premium feel, then the used Series 5 Apple Watch is probably the better choice for your needs.
More recent Apple Watches tend to have better processors and more features, but it’s important to note that there have only been incremental upgrades with each series of Apple Watch. For example, the biggest upgrade of the Series 5 over the Series 4 is the always-on display and slightly more battery life. Otherwise, they’re pretty much the same watch. Although it is important to note that every Apple Watch before the Series 4 had a much smaller display and chunkier feel. We would suggest getting a used Series 4 Apple Watch or newer model.
Yes! If you buy a used Apple Watch Series 5, it should be totally okay going with you into the shower, but keep in mind that water resistance can fade over time, and the presence of cleaning agents such as shampoos and soap can further erode the seals that keep your Apple Watch waterproof.
Although your refurbished Apple Watch will be able to share heart and blood flow data with your doctor, it cannot guarantee any notice of an incoming heart attack. But it will let you know if it senses any irregular heart patterns. But please, let's be reasonable here... a refurbished Apple Watch Series 5 cannot replace a real doctor :(
Although the refurbished Apple Watch Series 5 does not (yet) natively support sleep tracking at the time of writing this, it is rumored that it will be able to do so with the next software update coming together with the Series 6 Apple Watch. But there are other third-party apps that you can install onto your used Apple Watch that will be able to track your sleep and give you data concerning your sleep patterns.
