On original inspection I thought it had scratches and pitting, but a thorough cleaning, and it appears they were mostly grime. I was a bit surprised that the refurbishing/renewal process didn't include a good cleaning. As this was a present, I was very happy with the condition it ended up being in. The battery status indicated that the battery had been charged a total of 5 times. I don't know if that reverts back to zero when the drive is wiped or that there is a way to reset that odometer, but I'm hoping that it indicates that the battery was replaced. The one thing that remains in question is "was the keyboard replaced". Apple had A LOT of issues with their Butterfly Keyboards from 2015 to 2018, and offered a free replacement, if the computer was brought in. There is no way, to my knowledge, to know if this MacBook received one of those replacements. I tested all the keys for sticking, and everything seems to be okay so far, but I would have liked that piece of mind. The macbook is amazing. Works like new. I was skeptical at first because I have never seen a macbook for that cheap that performs amazingly. Also wasn't sure if this site was legit, but after doing all the research it was worth it. I use mine to download protools and it's been almost a month and going strong. Although one speaker blew out on me just yesterday but for me personally it doesn't bother me. So far so good!! I love it! It’s pretty much perfect! The price point was great and there’s barely any wear and tear on it. Everything is running great. I’ll be back to update my review if need be. But so far, I’m very happy with my purchase. I don't normally write reviews but after several years of using back market its about time. This computer came immaculate well rounded I still don't think I've seen a scratch packaging very well. after a couple days use I'm very pleased as always. I've spent a lot of money with back market over the years never failed. UNLESSS Shipping is off and on depending on who is sending your things. Had my computer for a whole two months before it just quietly died in the middle of my working one day. Under warranty so I sent it back. While waiting on the news I just got emails that it has been refunded. So now I’m back to where I was two months ago. Complete waste of time and faith. Too good to be true. I guess I’ll save up and get one that’s not refurbished from somewhere else in like 6 months. Ugh. Such a setback.
