I purchased an Excellent condition MacBook via BackMarket, from seller Tekreplay. Within a month, the battery faltered. I contacted BackMarket, and was told to ship the laptop to Tekreplay for repair.
I shipped the laptop, then followed up to let Tekreplay know that it was en route.
At that point, BackMarket chooses to tell me that Tekreplay will not honor the repair, and that instead I will be refunded the purchase price. By the way, they say, the Macbook version and year I purchased is no longer available on site. Here’s a 5% coupon code as an apology.
Needless to say, I’m exceedingly annoyed. I could’ve just dropped the Macbook off at my local repair shop—the fix wouldn’t have taken more than a day.
I’ve now been without a laptop for two weeks. I’ve been waiting to see if the Macbook with my preferred specs will reappear on here, so I can repurchase it.
I’ve used BackMarket A LOT over the years. I’m typing from a phone I purchased three years ago.
However, I would advise AGAINST purchasing from Tekreplay.
