The ZTE Grand X3 is an attractive, affordable Android phone. You get a bright, crisp display, as well as a removable battery and expandable memory. The Grand X3 is also one of the first phones in this price range we've seen with a USB-C port.

Design, Display, and Features

The Grand X3 is a very large phone. It measures 6.07 by 2.99 by 0.37 inches (HWD) and weighs 6.0 ounces. Despite its size, the phone doesn't feel clunky, thanks to a slim bezel and a display that curves to meet the edges of the device. It's a good-looking phone, especially when you consider the price.

There's a set of capacitive buttons below the display, a pair of clicky volume buttons and a power button on the right side, a 3.5mm audio jack up top, and a USB-C port at the bottom. The back is smooth, dark gray polycarbonate. It peels off to reveal a removable 3,080mAh battery, a microSD card slot, and a SIM card slot. There's a muffled-sounding speaker back there as well.

The front is home to a 5.5-inch, 1,280-by-720 IPS LCD, which is surprisingly bright. I had no problem seeing it in direct sunlight, and viewing angles are decent.
