    I was looking to replace my dad's old MacMini as it was on its last legs. I tend to use electronics as long as possible to avoid e-waste.     i brought the device for school. it seems good, i am more of a mac user. it meets all the necessary requirements for school but i was really upset that the seller mislead with the backlit keyboard feature. that was one of the main reasons that i brought this laptop. backmarket was quick to present a solution which i appreciated. the laptop looks really good and the other features seem to work really great

    It seems to be working fine. The back of the iPad has been covered with an aluminum-like material sticker, probably to hide scratches on the surface. I wouldn’t describe the condition as excellent — more like decent to good overall.

    TL;DR My MacBook arrived in “excellent” condition as described, but the battery will not charge and is saying it requires service. I am returning and pursuing a refund. I really hoped that I wouldn’t be one of the people writing a negative review—but nevertheless—here I am. I ordered an M1 Max MacBook Pro from Back Market after nearly half a year of research and saving. I read many reviews from Back Market, even watching videos on people who had purchased their products, and found an overall positive experience; with only a handful of unfortunate negative reviews. I went ahead and placed my order. I was so excited about my purchase that I went ahead and paid the $30 express shipping, which didn’t come any quicker (maybe even slower) than standard free shipping. Which was a bummer, but ultimately it’s whatever. When my MacBook arrived, I was so excited and hustled to get it set up. I was genuinely impressed by the cosmetic quality of the machine as it had no defects, marks, scratches, or anything. It was 100% flawless, as I would expect from purchasing one of “excellent” quality. Upon setting it up, the laptop begin restarting on its own, and did this 3 or so times before actually turning on and allowing me to proceed with the first time setup. After I made it through the setup process, I soon noticed that there was a warning indicator on the battery drop down section. It said “service recommended, battery will not charge.” I had the device plugged in for 30+ minutes and it did not go over 1%. Looking into service, it would cost $300 to replace the battery through apple, which unfortunately isn’t worth it to me after spending as much as I did on this machine. I’m returning it tomorrow (less than 24 hours after receiving it) and pursuing a full refund. It’s a shame that it is happening this way, but I ultimately should’ve ordered directly through apple refurbished. Otherwise, my experience with Back Market has been great, and I am hoping it continues to be the same with support and the return/refund process.
