    Plugged it in right out of the box and sparks came out of the base and a puff of smoke when I powered it on I immediately unplugged it and wrapped it back up and have been trying to arrange for a return without success yet even after several “chat” communications. Returns are advertised but it has not been easy, yet. The unit is useless and a fire hazard unfortunately and I hope Back Market will make good on a return.

    This iPhone is a great phone, with the exception that the earpiece speaker is not working correctly, and the vendor that sold this unit will only fix it if I sent the phone back leaving me without a phone, instead of sending me a replacement and a return label to send back the dysfunctional one once I have transferred my plan to the new phone. Talking with BackMarket I was told there is nothing they can do as a remedy, so now I will eat the cost to repair this iPhone that was described in the post as premium repaired with original parts. I will not be using this platform again, though I really do like the idea of buying quality refurbished items keeping them out of the landfills.
