The following link will take you to a more detailed specs comparison of the iPhone 11 vs iPhone X. We built this cool phone comparison app to help you compare iPhones.

iPhone 11 vs iPhone X: Overview

The iPhone 11 and iPhone X are both great phones, but how do they stack up against one another?

When comparing the iPhone 11 vs iPhone X, we’ll want to look at a few things, specifically performance, camera quality, display, battery life, durability, and body. And the two years between the two phones mean they’ve got some pretty sizable differences in these areas.

Which one should you choose? It all comes down to what you’re looking for and what kind of phone user you are.

Body: The iPhone X is sleeker

Looks aren’t everything, but they’re likely the first thing you’ll notice when comparing the iPhone 11 vs iPhone X.

The iPhone 11 is a few millimeters taller, wider and thicker, and a few grams heavier than the iPhone X. The larger size of the iPhone 11 makes the phone a little harder to use one-handed than the X, but it makes it ideal for watching videos, gaming, and simply just enjoying content on a bigger screen.

Conversely, the smaller size of the iPhone X means it’s sleeker and more portable, so if you live an on-the-go lifestyle, the iPhone X may be the better option. We’d also be remiss to not discuss iPhone color options—for some, that’s a big factor when comparing iPhones.

If a colorful iPhone is important to you, the iPhone 11 is the way to go—it’s available in purple, yellow, green, and red, as well as black and white. On the other hand, the iPhone X, available in space grey or silver, is the more classic, modern-looking option. Again, it all comes down to personal preference and style.

Durability: Do you drop your phone a lot?

Durability might be an important point of comparison for you if you're known for dropping your iPhone and don't like using a case.

Thanks to tougher materials, iPhone 11 is the more durable option between the two. The iPhone 11 is also a little more water-resistant (up to a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes) than the iPhone X (1 meter for 30 minutes), so if you want a sturdier phone (who doesn’t?), the iPhone 11 is the way to go.

Display: OLED technology is cool, but will you notice it?

There aren’t huge differences between the iPhone X vs iPhone 11 when it comes to screen technology and display, however, there are a few things worth mentioning.

The iPhone 11 is equipped with a 6.1-inch (diagonal) LCD display, while the iPhone X has a 5.8-inch OLED display that technically has a higher resolution and dynamic range. This means you’ll get a wider range of deeper, more vibrant colors on the iPhone X, while the iPhone 11 will have more subtle colors.

Both screen/display types are great for different reasons, and some people prefer the more muted colors of the LCD screen. Both look equally as sharp to the naked eye. Something to keep in mind, however, is that the brighter colors of the iPhone X come at a cost to its battery life.

Battery Life: Expect more from the 11

Speaking of batteries, the iPhone 11, with its energy-efficient A13 Bionic chip, uses a lot less battery life over time than the iPhone X. The battery pack in the iPhone 11 is also larger than the one in the iPhone X (3110mAh vs 2716mAh), meaning a more substantial, long-lasting (albeit heavier) battery. The iPhone 11 battery also boasts up to 17 hours of video playback versus 13 hours for the iPhone X.

The iPhone 11 really sells itself on its impressive battery life; however, if you find yourself near an electric outlet often, the iPhone X may still be enough for your needs.

Refurbished devices sold on Back Market always have at least 85% maximum charge capacity. Want 100%? Try a brand new battery.

Camera: The iPhone 11 has a lot of tricks up its sleeve

Right off the bat: There's a big difference in camera performance between the iPhone X vs 11.

For one, the iPhone 11 has been updated with a 12-megapixel front-facing camera, as compared to the 7-megapixel front camera in the iPhone X.

While both cameras come equipped with dual-lens 12-megapixel rear cameras, they differ in lens type. The iPhone X features a telephoto lens, while the iPhone 11 comes with an ultra-wide-angle lens, which allows for dramatic, wide-sweeping shots and creative portraits.

The iPhone 11 also features "Night" mode, which captures low-light images with incredibly clear, sharp detail, as well as Deep Fusion, a processing technology that allows for better, sharper indoor shots in medium light. The iPhone 11 has also been updated with a brighter True Tone mode than the X, and features portrait mode with advanced bokeh (background blur) and Depth Control, while the iPhone X only features portrait mode.

Performance: The iPhone 11 is noticeably faster

At the time of its release, the iPhone 11 chip, the Apple A13 Bionic, was one of the best on the market. Combine that with 4 GB of RAM (compared to 3 GB for the iPhone X), and the fact that it is 30% more energy-efficient compared to the older A11 Bionic inside the iPhone X, and you’ve got an obvious advantage with the iPhone 11.

On the other hand, even if the performance is better on paper, you may not see any major differences in everyday use, apart from quicker loading for larger applications and games with the iPhone 11. Truth be told, the A11 Bionic chip in the iPhone X is still a capable, speedy chip and is still able to run the newest version of Apple’s iOS.

Another factor to consider when comparing the iPhone X vs 11 is storage. While the iPhone 11 and the iPhone X are both available in 64 GB and 256 GB versions, the iPhone 11 is also available in 128 GB, giving you another option to choose from.

iPhone 11 vs iPhone X: What’s the final verdict?

It’s no secret: The iPhone 11 and iPhone X are both fantastic phones. While they both have their pros and cons, we think that most people will probably find the iPhone 11 a better fit for their needs. With its long battery life, energy-efficient A13 Bionic chip, superior durability, better camera technology, and a broader choice of color options, the iPhone 11 is the all-around better iPhone bang for your buck.
