    Computer works great! Updated it to the newest software as soon as I got it and did just fine! On the outside it did have minor scratches etc but hey it’s new to me!! One of the USB ports did look a little bent probably from a previous fall but still works fine. Worth the purchase and got a great deal! Even came wrapped with a bow :)

    Overall, I’m pleased with the purchase. The shipping could use some work though. The laptop was in a thin bubble wrap sleeve inside its own box which was then tossed in a larger shipping box with no protection. You can imagine how that arrived. I was initially concerned the laptop would be damaged but so far it mostly behaves as expected. I would say the condition cosmetically is better than expected. The immediate issue I found is that the track pad is a little loose in the lower left corner resulting in 1) a super annoying click if you even brush the area with a finger or anything and 2) the need for a pretty hard press to get that area to click effectively. Unfortunately for me, that’s my muscle memory spot on the track pad to use and the sound may drive me mad. There are two software concerns for me. One is the annoying notification to allow or skip Cadence Design Systems, INC can automatically configure your Mac. When you click details you get pretty much the same offer but no explanation. IDK who Cadence Systems is but I’m not comfortable with giving them any more say on my laptop than they probably already have. Second, there’s a warning in energy saver options that “Service recommended. Battery charging.” Can’t seem to find any information on why the computer thinks the battery needs service, but I suppose it could be that the battery was replaced in the upgrade/refurbish process and the original Mac system doesn’t like it. So far, it has operated as expected and I have high hopes it will get me through grad school. I just wish a few things had been done with a little more care and an effort at giving a little bit more info to non-geeks or at least those of us in the middle of non-geek and feel so it doesn’t feel quite so much like “here you go, figure it out.” Shipping could use some love as well. Hard to feel confident when they just toss it in a box with little care. And I also hope this trackpad click doesn’t drive me freaking bonkers.

    Machine's battery started dying about 4 months after purchase, along with the H key on the keyboard. I sent it back for repairs, but they keep shipping the machine to the WRONG address...twice. Today, I was told there was an error in receiving the machine (after a receipt notifying they had it on May 6) and they would be working on the repairs as soon as the machine arrived. So, they shipped the machine back to the wrong address twice, without repairing it? Fail...
