    I am absolutely flabbergasted how cheap this machine was relative to its quality. It looks almost brand new. We opted for the excellent condition option which is 100% true to the word. 💯 The only visible blemish is a tiny hairline in the underside. The keyboard feels new and has not a single polished key from use. Battery lasts for days as it sits on the counter and gets light use throughout the week. The machine itself does the job 8gb of ram and an i5 is plenty for a Chromebook but should last the family a few solid years. The only minor, and not a huge deal are the speakers, they are a bit weak. With the advances in small tech even small speakers are relatively cheap these days, so a bit shocked when I heard them for the first time. Chime in Zoolander scene, are these speakers for ants? 😆 Overall, impressed and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

    This PC is wonderful. Shipping was quick, the unit is in great condition cosmetically. HOWEVER: when I powered it up the fan sounded like an old reel projector and i received a BIOS error message that the CPU fan was undetectable. It wasn't an airflow noise, it was a mechanical noise so loud you could hear it from down the hall. I popped the cover off and saw that the fan plate was almost imperceptibly depressed in the middle. I detached the fan from the plate (keeping it plugged in) and gently pressed it back into shape over my knee. Screwed it back in, plugged everything back in and booted up. The fan is now nearly silent; I can hear that it is working, but I don't feel like there's a silent movie projector in the room. The fan error is also gone from startup and there's no additional fan errors in the BIOS log. I still got a screaming deal on this $1400 PC, this is my third purchase from BackMarket and I'll for sure be back. Since I don't know what caused the bent plate and I know they would have given me my money back if I asked, I'm not taking away any stars. But be aware, while looking around online, fan noise seems to be a common complaint for these units.

    My laptop arrived promptly and was in perfect working order when it arrived. I run Linux (CachyOS), and I had no troubles installing and setting up my machine. The keyboard has great action and is fairly quiet. It has a white backlight, which is nice. I prioritize having a number pad, which this has without being too big of a machine. The screen is clear and has good brightness adjustment. The sound quality is good for a laptop, and the video quality is good for video meetings. There doesn't seem to be any issue with echo when using the built-in mic in video meetings. Some reviews complained of overheating issues with this particular laptop (and old Dells in general), but I haven't had any issues. The track pad has a little too much resistance to clicking for my taste, and I'm a little disappointed that there are only two USB-A ports, but my last laptop was from a higher-end line, so it's a fair compromise for the price. In the attached photos, the last 3 are the only damage evident as a machine with a "Good" rating. They are all very slight scuffs to the case. Very impressed.

    The computer was great. Well above what I thought I was going to get. The charger was a little rough. You could see the wires that went into the plug in that goes into the computer. I ordered a brand new one for $20 so no big deal.
