    The phone was better than expected. Although it said like new, this phone had zero scratches and looked factory new. My only complaint was that there was no way to contact customer service directly. I was trying to reach out because it said unlocked but had a Verizon logo telling me to use a Verizon SIM and I am a T-Mobile customer. I was able to eventually get it to work. I would like to speak to a live person instead of an email process. That makes me nervous if I was to have some issue and would need to rely on distant email messaging for a resolution instead of a human connection.

    The seller JemJem sucks. They sent me an iPhone 13 mini in “Excellent” condition. Apparently to them, “Excellent” means the screen has a hairline crack, and the main speaker doesn’t work. All the sound comes out of the ear speaker! I didn’t even know a phone could malfunction that way. I found the owner online and emailed him, and in our interaction, I never got an apology - nothing. Just a request to film a video of the issue that they overlooked. How do some people sleep at night? I have always been puzzled by that. I decided to give BackMarket one more chance, and my new (refurb) iPhone 13 mini works wonderfully so far! So this 1-star is just for the seller mentioned above, not for BackMarket per se.

    I ordered an iPhone 12 mini 128 GB in excellent condition from the refurbisher JemJem. This phone’s appearance is indeed excellent with no scratches on the screen or back. However, I am disappointed that the battery level is at 83% and needs to be replaced soon. I personally believe that “excellent” should mean near full battery health in addition to aesthetics. I have bought iPhones from other refurbishers and they had better battery capacity.
