How Much Does it Cost to Repair a Broken iPhone?

Sometimes a used iPhone is cheaper than a repair, it’s a fact. A cracked glass panel or screen can easily cost you more that $500 to fix at the Apple Store, depending on the model of iPhone that you own. Water damage can also incur some serious costs.

Get Your iPhone Repaired at an Independent Shop

But if you just broke your iPhone, the first thing you should probably do is see if there are any good independent repair shops located around you. They’ll give you a better repair price than any Apple Store, but keep in mind to check the Google reviews for the location first to make sure other people have had a good experience with the shop.

Every time you get a phone repaired, there’s a risk that it won’t be done 100% right. See if the shop offers warranties on their service so you can come back if a problem arises that was related to your repair. Also, keep in mind that if you get your broken iPhone fixed at an independent shop, it will void your warranty ☹ But to be honest, it may still be worth the money you’re saving.

Is it Better to Repair or Replace an Older iPhone?

If the iPhone is at least a couple years old, it may not pay to repair it anymore. Keep in mind that there is a risk that the repair won’t always go perfectly, and that your phone may lose its waterproofing once it is opened. And if the iPhone is older, you may notice that it’s already slowing down and may not be supported in the next iOS update. If this is the case, it may be time to get a newer used or refurbished iPhone.
