This is a review of the phone itself. Not of the refurbisher since they're doing good things. Shipping was fast, no-fuss and despite being fair condition had little to no wear and tear or cosmetic damage and was packaged lovingly to make sure the device arrived safely. Amazing process and I will absolutely buy from this person again 100%!!!
Anyways I hope you're ready to be more disappointed in a name brand product than your mother when she saw your report cards cause this phone is the exact manifestation of disappointment, sadness and the stages of grief all in one little black touch screen brick.
When you think of Samsung, you think of Galaxy, and when you think of Galaxy, you think of a pretty darn good phone.
But not this one.
I ordered this phone because I broke my note 10 plus and needed a temporary burner until I could get a new one, and temporary burner quickly transformed into a useless slab of plastic that I wanted to throw in my microwave and watch explode. (I didn't, cause then my microwave would break and I would have cancer causing chemicals irradiating my 1 br apartment, but honestly I think I like the microwave more than this useless slab of dead dreams with a screen)
I didn't order this with high expectations or hopes since it was actually very low price for a Samsung.. Until I turned it on for the first time.
I hope you're ready to accomplish absolutely nothing with this mysterious apparatus of what Samsung became because you have 4 gigs of memory! Yippee! A non tech savvy person like your grandma would assume 4 gigs of memory to be a good number.
It's not. Not even close. If you leave even ONE background app in the background your phone is going to lag to the great heavens and make doing anything at all, an actual fight, and when it does decide to stop lagging its only when you've mashed the home screen button about a quadrillion times so now, you're stuck in a timeloop of waiting for this sad wasted potential of a phone to do its job and be a phone. I could watch all 3 Avatar movies on my computer and finish them all before this phone decides its done being a war criminal.
The phone registered the SIM card nicely, until it didn't. During the setup process, It continuously froze and I had to force shut it down and do the process all over again, apparently the process of doing a setup in the first place was too much for the poor thing to handle, but at the end of the day, we made it, there was tears, pain, struggles, panic induced stress, screaming, begging, PLEADING, and arguing with my phone company's customer service because I assumed the issue was on their end. (Turns out it wasn't. The phone was just struggling too hard to keep up). Despite all the grief I went through to get it running. I somehow did and went right to installing the apps that I needed, specifically for work related reasons... And Tiktok.
First I opened my banking app... The phone took roughly one whole minute to actually load my banking app and another minute to show me my balance, my patience is wearing thin at this point.
I go to work next day and I have to pull up an important document for my coworkers and whaddya know, the phone won't even let me do THAT, It continued to lag as if it's little brain couldn't comprehend loading a 3 paged bundle of numbers and words that even an LG Stylo could've managed to do without much of a battle, so we're all standing around, time is running out, and the phone is still not opening the file, I shut it down and restart it and much to my relief it finally loads the file! Until I try to scroll, the scroll was slower than dog snot in September so I was painfully attempting to scroll through the document while all my coworkers are staring in dreadful and embarrassing silence as the process took roughly 5 whole minutes to reach the end of the document. With my pride being shot down in no time at all, I quietly withdraw from my normally chatty coworkers and go stew at my desk in sorrow, praying for the pain to end, fortunately my double shot iced white mocha was my emotional support through the whole thing.
At the end of the day, its still a $77 phone, But if you want a plastic coated hot mess with 4 gigs of memory for your grandmother or grandfather this is the phone for you cause you're not gonna find a phone that absolutely won't run out of battery anywhere else. I would honestly use this phone in an apocalyptic event, it would make a great oversized chunk of plastic that you could throw at someone's head and send them to a hospital in a medically induced coma for 32 years. But that's it. That's all I would find it good for.
