The iPhone X or the iPhone 12 Pro? Which is the best phone?

These two look-alike iPhones may appear to be the same, but there are some major differences. Is the slightly older iPhone X better for you or should you upgrade to the iPhone 12 Pro? 

iPhone X : a new design for Apple

Launched in 2017 and the first iPhone to display the Apple notch (the black part at the top of the screen that houses the camera, speaker, and Face ID tech). This was an iconic phone – sporting a new-style design with no home button, edge-to-edge display, and an enlarged power button, making it easy to reboot. However, the screen size is a little smaller than the iPhone 12 Pro, at 5.8-inches compared to 6.1-inches. Weighing 15 grams less than the 12 Pro, this is worth considering if you like to carry your phone in your pocket. Performance is good, but not as good as the 12 Pro’s thanks to the A14 Bionic processor (the iPhone X contains an A11) and double the X’s RAM (6 GB vs. 3 GB).  

iPhone 12 Pro: a big display on a newer smartphone

If you’re budget conscious, the good news is the iPhone 12 Pro is cheaper than the iPhone X, despite it sporting more features. The 12 Pro is easier to hold as it’s longer and thinner than the X and gives a brighter display thanks to its Super Retina XDR OLED screen. But the difference really shows with the iPhone 12 Pro’s superior camera. With a wide-angle lens that’s perfect for landscape shots, a larger image sensor for sharper focus, and an improved night-mode facility, the 12 Pro’s camera takes stunning photos. Battery life is similar on both phones (about a day with average use), but the 12 Pro will suck up battery power if you use 5G a lot (the X doesn’t have this feature). All-important charge time stands out on the iPhone 12 Pro, with it supporting 20W fast charging, while the X only has 15W.
