The Best Black Friday iPhone? Hint: Not the iPhone 12
Black Friday iPhone deals that don't end on Black Friday
The two best Black Friday iPhones for 2020
Hear me out: the new iPhone is impressive—very impressive—but so are last year’s iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. As a matter of fact, we believe these are some of the best iPhone deals that you can take advantage of this Black Friday or Cyber Monday 2020.
You don't need to wait for Black Friday to get the best Black Friday iPhone deals. We've made it our mission at Back Market to offer amazing deals year-round. Yay for refurbished iPhones :D
Despite the amazing deals you can get on a used iPhone, many are worried they may get a device with an old battery, and others are worried they’ll get a device with scratches. Here are some reasons why people are afraid of buying a used iPhone and what Back Market does to remedy these concerns.
1. Weak batteries
Back Market’s affiliate technicians do a thorough check of the device before selling it to you. And one of those checks includes plugging up the phone to a scanner that evaluates the battery’s life cycle. If a battery inside a used iPhone doesn’t meet our strict criteria, we replace it with a new one BEFORE selling it to you. This way, you don’t need to worry about your used iPhone coming with a weak battery.
We all want to save money on an iPhone, but some of us really want an iPhone that looks and feels like a new one. And even the smallest scratch would take that feeling away from us. This is why Back Market has quality grades on their refurbished devices, with some devices even coming with a more detailed description to further describe any blemishes. And if you want a device that’s in perfect condition, make sure to select the “Mint” quality grade.
3. Bro, is that thing clean?
OK, so you may choose to phrase this question a little differently depending on what generation you’re in, but some people don’t like the idea of buying a used iPhone that may still have germs left from the last person that used it. If you buy a used iPhone from somebody random off the street using an app like Craigslist, you won’t have any guarantee that the device was thoroughly sanitized before being sold. But if you buy from any one of Back Market’s certified sellers, you can be sure that your device was thoroughly cleaned and inspected by professionals.
Maybe you want the newest iPhone as a status symbol. Maybe you think buying the newest iPhone every year is the cool thing to do. But to be honest, this type of belief isn’t good for your wallet or for the environment :( Millions of pounds of waste are generated every year because people get rid of their devices too early, and the mining of new materials to produce all the new iPhones is also damaging to the planet.
OK, now that we have that out of the way, let’s look at the two iPhones that are offering some of the best value for Black Friday 2020 :)
What makes the iPhone 11 special? We all know how Apple loves throwing out fancy marketing names for all their iPhone features and internals, but the A13 Bionic processor inside the iPhone 11 is really no slouch.
As much as I love Androids, Apple has been one-upping Androids in the chip department year after year. Apple chips are slightly faster than the top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon chips that are utilized in competing Android flagships. And since these chips are so fast, you can trust that they will be working great for many years to come.
In addition, Apple’s software updates guarantee that you’ll get all the newest iPhone features for years to come. You’ll be lucky if your Android phone still gets updated 2 years after its release—unless it’s a Google Pixel—but with Apple, it’s not unusual to get software support for more than 5 years after the phone is released, and that’s pretty insane (in a good way).
So if you buy a refurbished iPhone 11 for this Black Friday, you can expect to get software updates till at least 2025—yeah, that’s a long time.
The iPhone 11 Pro has the same awesome chipset as the iPhone 11, but the main differences are the dimensions and improved cameras.
The iPhone 11 Pro is a little smaller than the base model 11, which means that it’s easier to grip and use one-handed. But if you like watching videos and reading a lot of articles on your phone, you may prefer the bigger screen on the 11. But personally, since I often use my phone with one hand, I prefer the shape of the 11 Pro.
And in addition, the 11 Pro has a higher-contrast OLED display compared to the 11’s LCD display. Without getting too technical, this basically just means that the iPhone 11 Pro has more vibrant colors.
But that doesn’t mean that the standard iPhone 11 has a bad screen. Both devices have really sharp and colorful screens, and it’s hard to notice a big difference between the colors on the two screens, even when holding the devices side by side.
There’s also a bit of a difference when comparing the cameras on these two devices, with the iPhone 11 Pro having an extra telephoto lens to improve close-ups and portrait shots. Both devices have impressive night modes for capturing amazing detail in low light scenes without using flash, and that’s a feature you won’t get in older iPhones like the XS or XR.
Most users would probably be happy just getting an iPhone 11, but if these additional features interest you, it may be worth spending a few extra bucks and getting a refurbished iPhone 11 Pro :D
Ah yes, and one more difference that I forgot to mention—although I wouldn’t necessarily call it a “feature”—the iPhone 11 Pro has a matte finish as opposed to a glossy coating. So your choice between these devices may also depend on which exterior coating you prefer :)
Whether you want to buy a used iPhone 11 or 11 Pro, the main takeaway from this article is that both of these devices are a very reasonable choice for Black Friday 2020. An iPhone 11 offers the best value, while the iPhone 11 Pro gives you slightly less value but with a slightly more premium feel and features. Whichever one you choose, rest assured that either one of these will make for a great Black Friday iPhone deal. And since we've made it our mission to offer affordable iPhones year-round, don't feel pressured to buy on Black Friday! We always try our best to keep our prices competitive, so check back any time you're ready to buy :) Black Friday iPhone deals never really end on our website.
The kind of guy that likes technology a little too much and can't stop talking about it. Good thing I work at Back Market :D
